TUBE ANEMONE

Zorro Zorro
  • Technical Name: Cerianthus sp.

Anemones defend themselves and capture their prey through the venomous sting of their tentacles. They grow upon the sandy floors of reefs and have a growth similar to that of vegetables, which is why the first naturalists mistook them for plants and, in fact, they are classified as being Anthozoa, which means flower animals. These beings have very elongated bodies in the shape of thin tubes, within which they can retract their tentacles.
