Birds of prey and exotic birds flying freely above the heads of visitors.

Aviario Aviario Aviario

The Aviary is an impressive installation inaugurated in 1998, which occupies more than 3.000m2, of which 2.000 correspond to a central lake where the birds of prey and exotic bird.s free flight exhibitions take place.

It is located between the Aquarium and the Dolphinarium, creating a triangle of maximum interest to the visitors. The exhibitions are carried out in an amphitheatre shaped building which consists of stands with a capacity for 1.500 people, a lake, two flight towers of more than 6 metres in height and a platform over the lake which, as part of the complex, facilitates the exhibition flights.

Their objective is to demonstrate live to the public the differences in flight of the various species. When building the Aviary, it was sought to attain an image similar to medieval falconry structures using two different aspects, volumetric composition and the materials employed, basically stone, mud and wood. By respecting the natural environment and strengthening current vegetation, a harmony has been achieved between the existing buildings and the area of influence of this exhibition. In addition, for the training, care and development of the birds there are other facilities such as:

- Access and work patio (away from the view of the public)

- Interior and exterior cages

- Zona de cuidadores

- Cuarentena El Aviario reúne más de 60 animales de especies de los cinco continentes: águilas de cabeza blanca, buitres, condores, halcones, papagayos, cacatúas, etc.
