North America

The extraordinary richness of the New World is reflected in its fauna. The animals in North America at Madrid Zoo Aquarium represent a continent that is geographically and orographically fascinating. This includes the Great Lakes -in Canada's Ontario and part of the United States-, the Hawaiian rainforests, deserts such as Mexico's Zone of Silence, mangroves, tundras and grasslands where the impressive bison graze. The park exhibits specimens of the European and American variety of these terrestrial mammals, which are the largest on the continent. Did you know that a male can weigh over a ton?

North America is home to the raccoons, highly adaptable mammals that live around human settlements.
